De Forville Dolcetto d’Alba pours a vibrant ruby red with striking violet reflections and immediately charms with a vinous, expressive nose packed with ripe cherry and juicy plum aromas. On the palate, it’s dry and harmonious, showing beautifully balanced tannins and a pleasant hint of almond that adds character and charm. Incredibly versatile at the table, this Dolcetto is a true crowd-pleaser—equally happy alongside pasta dishes, hearty soups, meat, game, and both mild and slightly sharp cheeses, including ripe, aged styles. Serve it at room temperature when young, or slightly warmer (around 18°C) after its first year of aging, and let it shine as an easygoing, food-loving Italian classic.
The DeForville's emigrated from to Piedmont from Belgium in the mid 1800s. They specialize in Nebbiolo, but also make an excellent Dolcetto. "Dolcetto" translates to "little sweet one" the grapes are predominantly grown in the outside of Alba. This is a dry and black cherry infused wine with hints of spice and soft tannins.
