A fragrant red with a timid nose of blue fruit, dried herbs and some crushed stones and raspberries. Tightly wound and medium- to full-bodied with tender red fruit. Very compact, with an elegant rigidity that is very appealing. Pure Sangiovese from a single vineyard in Radda in Chianti, which is one of the highest villages in Chianti Classico.

Decanter: 92 Points

Melini makes a single wine from its Radda property, La Selvanella, Showing more focus and brightness than previous vintages, it is scented with pepper, orange peel, tea and currants. Red berries meet leather and underbrush on the palate, lifted by racy, citrussy acidity and framed with light, dusty tannins. Mint lingers on the finish.
