The 2022 Pouilly-Fuisse Sur La Rouche 1er Cru has a backward and more austere bouquet compared to the preceding Vieilles Vignes, opening with aeration, the 20% new oak neatly integrated. There is a light Crustacea scent underneath the fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a subtle pepperiness on the entry, very elegant in style, building gently towards a lively persistent finish. Superb.
